Motorcycle maintenance doesn’t have to be intimidating. A few basic habits can keep your bike safer, running smoother, and help you avoid expensive repairs down the road.
Before you take off, do a fast 2-minute scan:
Oil is one of the biggest “make or break” items for your engine. Follow your owner’s manual for service intervals, and don’t forget the oil filter. If your bike feels rough, louder than normal, or shifts poorly, it might be overdue.
Your tires control traction and handling, and your brakes control everything else. Keep tires properly inflated and replace them when tread is worn or the rubber is aging. For brakes, watch for squealing, grinding, or a spongy brake lever—those are signs you need service soon.
A dirty or dry chain wears out fast and can become unsafe. Clean and lube it regularly and check the chain tension based on your manual. Small adjustments now can prevent big problems later.
If you store your bike for weeks or months, use a battery tender and consider fuel stabilizer. A little prep helps prevent dead batteries and hard starts.
Maintenance helps reduce risk, but insurance protects you from the unexpected, like theft, vandalism, or accidents. If you’d like, we can help you get a motorcycle quote that fits your bike and your budget.
